(I wouldn’t bring it up but for the umpteenth annoying article in the DomPost yesterday about how Wellingtonians are more cultured than Aucklanders. It’s been proven by a survey!)
(At times like that I get the full brunt of the feeling that we live in a sad parochial shitty little town.)
But metropolitan Adelaide has 20 city councils. However, some issues are handled at state government level, rather than local government level. Transport is a state responsibility.
And my daughters climb on them and slide down every time we go to Rundle Mall, as does every other child in Adelaide under the age of 10 or so. That’s what keeps the pigs so shiny.

I’d go for greater Auckland myself. Super Auckland sounds like the kind of town that would rush to help other towns in distress.

Don’t knock Adelaide too hard. They have pig statues in Rundle Mall, which is surely a badge of honour:
