Verdict? Not so bad.
Mostly cheesy. Might add more fresh basil, salt, pepper next time.

I’ve had the Silver Spoon for a couple of years and remember my ‘test run’ being a little underwhelming too. It’s a book that demands commitment and experimentation. So many of the recipes are light on method (not to mention the lack of pictures) so it’s rare to get it right first time. My second attempt at ‘chicken legs in red wine’ was sublime.
