It would be interesting to know what is going on; it would be sad if the backers (who presumably have partners, children, mortgages, etc.) had run into financial problems.
Though maybe they could get an arts grant for the entertainment value this is providing.
This being careful about what one puts online: it’s got the potential to take ALL the fun out of the web! Scarey stuff.
As you say, most people are just having some communication with a smallish group of hopefully like-minded souls…
One thing that’s great at PAS is people use their real names and it makes us more thoughtful about what we post. But still… maybe untracable (without a warrant!) web aliases might become a trade-able commodity.
The real worry is that even more people who have a lot to offer will be unwilling to stick their heads over the parapet, ‘cos they know they said stupid things in a blog once-upon-a-time. And who wins then?
That Nos-For-A-Rabbit is a wery nawty wee wabbit, but a friend of mine, therefor wise. In the end all that matters is that you are happy with what you said, otherwise let’s all hope you got well paid for saying it.
I think taglines are silly but this one stays with me…
Who cares?
Really?! DPF has some interesting and worthwhile political comment, but the bigotry, hatred, vitriol and bile that he lets his commentators post surely negates all that. However maybe the really nasty ones will take themselves off to the cloaca maximus, now that it has been re-excavated. T’would be nice to have some anger-issues-free right wing analysis available somewhere….
DPF knows where the bodies are buried, plus I bet he’s a little beguiling for journo’s. It’s my bet he would get a nifty job under National, chairperson of TVNZ maybe?. The great thing is, if it wasn’t for KB, I might consider looking at voting for JK my local MP, but everytime I visit KB…I remind myself to stop being silly.
He certainly doesn’t seem to be capable of the kind of sustained analysis that Idiot/Savant offers, but at least it’s a window into right wing thinking. Hmmm… is there a ‘decent’ right wing blog around?
OTOH, he does a fair amount of grunt work on polls and tax numbers – that’s pretty useful stuff.

Any idea why? I only discovered this yesterday myself.

nope. although, the first thing i thought when i heard was, “wonder if they’ll have to apply for the artist’s dole?”

Hmmm… not overdosing on schadenfreude (sp?), Che?

well, well. this post is generating some spam heat from someone.

Unfortunately the demise of the sewer means that its resident trolls are now looking for new homes.
31 May, 2007 at 4:05 am
pesky insomnia.
no worries i/s. sewer dwellers? just look for the people covered in shit.
they’ll be the ones to avoid.

They’re back, at http://nominister.blogspot.com/
Maybe I/S might be able to open up his comments again sometime…
5 July, 2007 at 7:06 am
meh. a new site doesn’t mean they’ve grown up all that much.
5 July, 2007 at 8:13 am
That would be too much to hope for.
I was a bit astonished when Colin Espiner, in his blog comments, said that he quite admired DPF’s work.
See this thread and comment: http://www.stuff.co.nz/thepress/blogs/politics/2007/07/02/the-ministry-of-good-news-reports/#comment-179

deborah… you must stop taking drugs. dpf rarely has interesting and worthwhile political comment.
and colin is probably a mate.

thing is… dpf doesn’t do political comment, he parrots things he hears in the media, or does puff-pieces on nat.party members.
i stopped reading him for that reason. and the talk-back radio followers.
6 July, 2007 at 11:35 am
Maybe that is political comment here in NZ?
6 July, 2007 at 11:48 am
good point. i shouldn’t be so hard on the guy.

hey, to the anonymous commenter who’s making veiled threats (and not making it thu moderation…)
two choices “mate”:
“grow up”
or “get fucked”.
either is good with me
